O Balthazar Presents
w/Valerie Hsiung, Maria Anderson, Margaree Little and Farid Matuk

O Balthazar Presents: an evening of live lit sounds with poet Valerie Hsiung and fiction writer Maria Anderson. Special guest readers from Tucson will read with our visiting writers.

Born into a family of political exiles and raised between Las Vegas and Cincinnati, Valerie Hsiung is a poet, playwright, screenwriter and musician. She has two books, incantation inarticulate and under your face, out with O Balthazar Press in October of 2013.

 

 

 

 

Fiction writer and journalist Maria Anderson grew up in Three Forks, Montana and now lives in Providence, Rhode Island. Her stories and reviews can be found or is forthcoming in The Atlas Review, Metazen, The Fiddleback, Tarpaulin Sky, and other print and online publications.

 

 

 

Margaree Little’s poems have appeared or are forthcoming in American Poetry Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, Bloom, New England Review, The Missouri Review, and The Southern Review.  She earned her MFA at Warren Wilson College and is a recipient of a 2013 Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award.  Originally from Rhode Island, she has lived in Tucson since 2009.

 

 

 

Farid Matuk is the author of This Isa Nice Neighborhood (Letter Machine, 2010) and the chapbook My Daughter La Chola (Ahsahta, 2013). New poems appear in Third Coast, Black Warrior Review, Iowa Review, Poets.org, The Baffler, and Denver Quarterly among others. He serves as contributing editor for The Volta, poetry editor for Fence, and teaches in the MFA program at the University of Arizona.
