The Haunting
My favorite pastime at Casa was reading the Classifieds. Local newspapers ubiquitously advertised the services of shamans, gurus, yogis, fortunetellers, and life coaches. Admittedly, I was intrigued—remembering a television program I'd seen, years before, about a cult of desert mystics who'd eaten the brain, soul, and intellect of Guns & Roses frontman, Axl Rose.
That being said, I met my own version of the occult when I realized that my Casa suite was haunted. Reason #1: Whenever I walked into the kitchen I felt creepy-cold feelings. Reason #2: In the kitchen I felt a creepy-cold feeling. Reason #3: I felt this cold-creepy feeling walk into the kitchen.
I'm not naming the suite number; I respect the privacy of ghosts. However, I will say it was male; it gave off a grave-lonely vibe; it liked to hang in the kitchen. The good news? He never turned poltergeist. Maybe he knew I was there to write.
