Please join us for a family style 3-course dinner at 5 Points Market & Restaurant to benefit Casa Libre. This dinner is locally sourced with generous donations of meat, cheese, and produce from Double Ceek Ranch, Sleeping Frog Farms, Fiore Di Capra, and Patagonia Orchards. Support also comes from Trader Joe's.

Tucson's favorite breakfast, lunch, and brunch place will be serving dinner for 1 night-only. Seating is limited, and you must have a reservation in advance to attend. There will be live music played by Samantha Bounkeua and Kate Haverly, as well as poetry performances by Stephanie Balzer and Sommer Browning.

Music and Poetry Performer Bios

 


Samantha Bounkeua graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and has appeared as a concerto soloist with the Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble, the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra and was the grand prizewinner of the Santa Fe Pro Musica Competition. She loves exploring cross-genre collaborations and is currently an active member in many local music groups including Tucson ChamberLab, Awkward Moments, Two-Door Hatchback and Church of Beethoven.

 

 

 

 


Kate Haverly is a long time singer-songwriter and performing artist. Her musical career has generated thus far 5 full length albums, performances all over The U.S and Mexico, and collaborations with countless musicians, dancers, poets, artists and filmmakers.

 

 

 


Stephanie Balzer earned her MFA from the University of Arizona in 2004. Her chapbooks include Revenant (Kore Press), faster, faster (CUE Editions), and WED JAN 30 12:58:10 2013 — THU DEC 20 14:16:36 2012: An Elegy (Flying Guillotine Press.) Her poems have also appeared in The Destroyer, Coconut Poetry, MidAmerican Review, and CUE, A Journal of Prose Poetry.

 

 


Sommer Browning writes poems, draws comics, and tells jokes. She is the author of two collections published by Birds, LLC, Backup Singers (2014) and Either Way I'm Celebrating (2011), as well as three chapbooks, most recently The Bowling (Greying Ghost, 2010) with Brandon Shimoda. Her poems and drawings have appeared in The New York Quarterly, Typo, Octopus, past simple, Free Verse, The Stranger, and other places.
