Dive-In Movie Nights (Wheeeeeee!)
float in the pool, eat popcorn, drink cheap beer, and watch campy double-features
July 29 / August 12
With a $12 donation to Casa Libre: you get to float around in the pool on noodles, watch a double-feature of campy movies, eat all the popcorn you can eat, drink all of the PBR you can drink, and enjoy Tucson summer nights. On Coozie Nights, the first 20 people to arrive will get a free coozie. On Fancy Floaty Night, you can add your name to a hat for the chance to win the use of the fanciest floaty in the pool during one of the movies. 2 winners per night!
You should bring: a towel, anything to eat and drink other than PBR and popcorn, a sense of joy and community, and an understanding that folks are NOT going to be quiet at this theatre.
We are not able to tell you the actual names of the movies we'll be watching, but these psudonyms should help you get the picture (Get it? Get the picture?). Thank you to Kristi Maxwell and Jim Cox for help with these punny little gems.
July 29: "Pose Near I" & "Large Difficulties in a Small Asian Community"
Coozie Night: The first 20 people who arrive get a free "Dive-in Movie Night" Coozie.
August 12: "Bring Up Tucson" & "Nasty Rubbing"
Fancy Floaty Night: add your name to a hat for the chance to win the use of a fanciest floaty during one of the movies. 2 winners per night!
If these are successful, we may have another showing in August of:
"Noogies" & "Iowa Smith and the Place of Worship of Calamity"
If these are successful, we may just keep them going until the pool gets too cold, because it sure is a lot of fun to come up with alternate movie titles.
MANY THANKS TO CASA VIDEO, WHO DONATED THE POPCORN FOR THESE EVENT.
